Domestic Abuse Champions Network Event

"On Monday evening Becky and I attended this month's Norfolk Domestic Abuse Champions Network Event which was arranged to honour Black History Month. We watched a special screening of the documentary film 'The rape of Recy Taylor' and partook in a very interesting discussion afterwards around race and gender relations, sexual violence, and forms of justice for victims of sexual assaults. It was great to hear everyone's thoughts on how we can feed our ideas into current and future best practice across services in Norfolk." Abbie Haines, Young Women's Outreach Worker.

BBC Children in Need event

BBC Children in Need event

"On Friday evening Jonna & I attended the wonderful BBC Children in Need Event at Norwich castle - and even made it onto the regional television broadcast! It was lovely to be invited to this celebration of the great work that Children in Need does and to meet all the lovely fund-raisers who work so hard to raise so much money each year. It was also great to get to meet all the other services and charities who are able to operate because of Children in Need funding. Thanks for inviting us!" Abbie Haines, Doorway Support Worker.

UEA Presentation

"It was great to be invited back to talk to the UEA education students for our annual presentation around CSE in Norfolk and the work of The Rose Project. A lovely group of enthusiastic students - you will play a very important role in keeping children safe! See you again next year!" Jade Brophy & Sophie Grimmer, CSE Practitioners.

Suzi Heyborne CEO, Lesley McNay Senior CSE Practitioner and Morwenna Chaffe CSE Practitioner visited St Christopher's CSE Residential Housing Project in Ealing, London last week. Norfolk VCSE Conference 2018 : Achieving Sustainability

Suzi & Sara attended Norfolk’s annual Voluntary Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) Conference which took place at The Space, Roundtree Way, yesterday. The conference was organised by three Norfolk organisations – Community Action Norfolk, Voluntary Norfolk and Momentum (Norfolk), under the “Working Together” banner - & aims to bring together representatives from VCSE organisations to provoke thought, provide an opportunity to consider issues from a national perspective and give delegates practical tools to use within their organisations through a mix of keynote speeches and workshops. This year's theme was sustainability - how organisations can develop sustainably in a changing environment and what this means for the VCSE sector. An interesting day.
