Tricky Period initiative

Tricky Period initiative

Homeless women and females on low incomes will benefit from a new service set up to provide free sanitary products at Norwich’s main libraries. The Tricky Period project involves the libraries taking donations of products and handing them out to people who cannot afford them, with no questions asked about proof of eligibility. Staff at Tuckswood, Earlham, West Earlham, Mile Cross, Plumstead Road, St Williams Way and The Millennium libraries have been taking in donations of tampons, sanitary towels and carrier bags for the last few weeks ready to start the scheme on Thursday 28 September. The Magdalene Group supports this initiative & can provide its service-users with any sanitary products they require.

Trustees’ presentation

We were delighted to welcome David Fullman, Lord Mayor of Norwich, Ruth Carrod, Lord Mayor's consort, & Gisele Walker, Sheriff's Lady, to our trustees' presentation last evening. We were very fortunate that these civic dignitaries could find time in their busy schedules to visit us & we were glad of the opportunity to share news of our work.

Welcome to our new website. We hope you like it. We welcome your feedback.

Sexualised trauma training

We were delighted to welcome Zoe Lodrick yesterday, for a full day's training session around sexualised trauma. For someone not front-facing, but wishing to learn more about the work of my colleagues, I found it fascinating & informative. Zoe has expertise in sexualised trauma, domestic abuse, victim behaviour, sex offending & the interviewing of victims of sexual crimes. Additionally she has considerable knowledge regarding the therapeutic needs of victims/survivors of rape, sexual assault, child sexual exploitation/abuse & domestic abuse. She is a great speaker, with many stories to tell.
